Terms for Hosts and Venue Partners
These terms apply to businesses that offer events on MatchQuest (hosts) or provide spaces for events (venue partners). They add to the guest terms and implement the P2B Regulation (EU) 2019/1150. This is a translation; the German version is binding. Last updated: 17 October 2026 · Version 2026‑10‑17.

1. Scope
These terms apply to contracts between MatchQuest GmbH, Friedrichstraße 123, 10117 Berlin (“MatchQuest”) and hosts and venue partners (together “partners”). Partners act as businesses within the meaning of § 14 BGB. Partners' own terms do not apply.
2. What MatchQuest provides
- Publishing events and venue profiles on the platform.
- Ticket sales, waitlists and payment processing through Stripe.
- Tools for running events: QR check-in, automatic grouping, table changes, help and break requests.
- Messages between hosts and venue partners, and booking requests for spaces.
- Overviews of earnings and the pilot scorecard (for example fill rate, check-in rate, ratings).
MatchQuest may develop features further as long as the core of the service is kept and the change is reasonable for the partner.
3. Registration and review
Partners sign up with complete and true details, including the business and an authorised representative. MatchQuest may review accounts before approval and ask for evidence. There is no claim to approval.
4. Host obligations
- Events must be lawful and take place as described (date, place, schedule, inclusions, price, audience, age limit).
- All guests must be at least 18. Youth protection and alcohol service rules must be followed.
- The host is responsible for permits, insurance, on-site safety, music licences (for example GEMA) and tax obligations.
- During the event, a responsible person from the host is on site, named in the app as the safety contact, answers help requests and enforces the code of conduct.
- Women-only or men-only events need an objective reason within the meaning of § 20 of the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG); the host is responsible for that decision.
- Safety and harassment reports are handled without delay and passed on to MatchQuest.
5. Tickets, payments and fees
The contract to take part is between guest and host. The host authorises MatchQuest to conclude contracts in its name on the terms shown in the app and to collect payments in its name through Stripe. Cancellations and refunds towards guests follow the guest terms.
For each ticket sold MatchQuest receives a fee equal to the percentage of the ticket price shown in the account. During the beta the fee may be reduced or waived. The remaining amount is paid out after the event to the connected Stripe account, minus refunds and chargebacks.
If the host cancels an event, MatchQuest refunds guests in full. MatchQuest may keep a fee already incurred if the host is responsible for the cancellation.
6. Venue partners
Venue partners describe their spaces accurately, including capacity, facilities, accessibility and prices. They can accept, decline or counter booking requests from hosts.
The contract for using a space is between host and venue partner. MatchQuest currently charges no fee on venue hire. Venue partners who run their own events are hosts for those events.
7. Display and ranking
Discover lists events by the soonest date by default. Guests can filter by availability, age, price, category and language and sort by price or title. Full and past events are labelled. There is no paid placement; fees do not affect the order.
MatchQuest's own events are shown under the same rules as partners' events.
8. Access to data
Hosts receive the data they need to run their events: first or display names, check-in status, groups, help and break requests, and aggregated ratings. They do not receive private details such as guests' dates of birth or contact details. MatchQuest uses platform data to run and improve the platform and does not share it with other partners.
Each party is responsible for its own processing of personal data. Partners use guest data only for the event concerned and delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose.
9. Restriction, suspension and termination
MatchQuest may hide events or restrict or suspend a partner account for legitimate reasons, in particular breaches of these terms, the law or the code of conduct, safety concerns or repeated justified complaints. We state the reasons no later than when the measure takes effect.
MatchQuest terminates with 30 days' notice and states its reasons. We terminate without notice only where the law requires it or for good cause. Partners can terminate at any time; events already sold must be held or cancelled under section 5.
10. Complaints and mediation
Partners can send complaints at any time, free of charge, to hello@matchquest.com. We review them promptly and share the outcome.
For disputes under the P2B Regulation we name the following mediators: [add mediator, unless MatchQuest is a small enterprise within the meaning of Recommendation 2003/361/EC].
11. Liability and indemnity
MatchQuest is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this contract. Liability for lost profit in cases of slight negligence is excluded.
The partner indemnifies MatchQuest against third-party claims arising from the partner's culpable breach of these terms or the law, including reasonable legal defence costs.
12. Changes
We announce changes to these terms in text form at least 15 days before they take effect. Partners can terminate the contract until then. We allow longer notice if the change requires technical or commercial adjustments.
13. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Place of jurisdiction is Berlin where the partner is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law. If language versions differ, the German version applies.
